Jan 14-17, 2010. Site will be getting a re-do in the next few weeks so it'll be pretty nice once that happens.
Trip will be kick ass as usual! Glad you can make it.

Are 2-way hand held radios an acceptable alternative to the CB radio? The two hansets I have handle most CB channels, I've successfully used them on several other endurance runs such as the New England Rally (1,500 mi) and I'd rather not have to purchase & hookup a CB if I don't have to, especially since I won't use it again.

As long as you can hear/talk on the CB channels, it shouldn't matter, but I don't think that they will work. It's really more for your benefit that you have it so you know when we are turning etc, and also cause it is a TON of fun!

As mike said - they need to be able to send/recieve CB radio channels.
From our experiense in the past years, we have learned that the newer hand-held CB radio work pretty well BUT with the group getting larger and more spread out you might not hear everyone.
However - if you can adapt an external antenna (one on your roof or trunk) then the hand-held CB will work just fine and you should not miss anything.

Yeah, last year we learned a lot about Shaun via the CB on the way into Vermont. The whole conversation was pretty funny.

Hi everyone, I've never been on the 48 hours event before, but it sounds like a good time so I'd like to attend this year.
I'll be driving my black 04 WRX, and my girlfriend will most likely be coming with me.
I look forward to meeting everyone and having a great weekend for a good cause

You won't regret it. This year is looking to be even bigger than last year!

Not positive, but I think we had as many as 35 cars at one point. As the saying goes, "the more the merrier". Welcome to the party .

We had 50 cars registered for last year's event. 2 groups of 25 cars each.
So far we have 10 registered for this year's event.

This is taken of the same line-up but at the very back of the line. It's hard to tell but the line of cars goes all the wayup to the intersection - you can just see a yellow sign on the right.
