Dr. G and I have something cooking up for Lake George this year on Sat night. It may even top Marios and include both dinner, party and lodging!
Stay tuned.

Cool! It would be nice to check into the room before dinner, then be able to get a load on without having to drive back to the room. I barely got buzzed last time. Well, I was tired anyway.

Excellent idea...what a pain in the ass it was to have those bastages threaten to start giving away prepaid rooms last year. That caused a mad dash to get everyone down the road and checked in....and then have the manager show up on my doorstep complaining about the noise because of the ONE other customer in the place that was not with our group. I'm definitely not giving my business to that place this year.

Sorry I have not posted my proposed route yet. This week has been crazy: car towed monday, classes started at work, classes started for me, & girlfriends license plate stolen. I will see if I can get the proposed route posted up this weekend.

What is the outlook for a dry run? I'll be down in GA for work (training) for the rest of the month, but I'm up for a weekend dry run after that. If the weather is still nice, and there's no off-road sections, maybe I'll bring the Bandit. I also got a new (refurb) Garmin 2720 to play with. Gimme some routes! ;D

Ok, so here is the route I was playing with:
Friday-SOA, SDC, Binghamton, Syracuse Sat. -Syracuse, through the Adirondacks, Burlington Sun -Bulington, Albany, Newburg
A friday alturnate I was thinking would be from SDC to Scranton, PA then up to Binghapton or maybe cooperstown (too far?).
All in all I think my final destinations are too far apart but again this is more of a suggestion that Mike could use for ideas.

SOA->SDC->Bingo->Syracuse in one day would be impossible just from a milage standpoint. Also going to burlington on Sunday doesn't do us any good since VT Sports car isn't going to be available to us on Sunday. -mike

As for burlington I think i had figured getting there saturday evening, but that probably would not do us much good either. ian

Here is where we'll be partying and staying on Saturday night: www.dunhamsbay.com/We have arranged for a private room w/buffet, PA System, big-screen TVs and a pool table at the sunken bar area. We'll probably be playing rally videos and possibly a slide show of all the previous year's pictures from the 48hrs of Tri-state. They also will be rolling out the red carpet when we arrive with bell-boy service for our luggage, and the owner has told us he will have an 2009 STi in every color offered on display there for us to check out. Pricing will be in the $25-30/head for dinner and about $50/head for the hotel/cabin/lodging. -mike

Looks like a decent place, I especially like the idea of having everything in one spot so no worries about having a cocktail or 2 then having to drive to the hotel.
If you need a hand with anything, give me a buzz.
One thing for this year: I think we really have to work on getting some more publicity for the drive. The more I mention this during my travels this year, the more people think it is a great idea. Any suggestions on doing a press release or something?
