Yup, I will have links to all the articles post-event.
I informed RIX if they would like to be a sponsor like all the others they could do that. And this year being a sponsor didn't take much!

As far as the RIX magazine topic goes... I know the person involved was on last years 48hrs. When I look through the coverage of events since 05 on the RIX I see lots of women, rimz, drifting, one open wheel event at NJMP, and bling. No mention at all of last years 48 hours... In fact no mention of THIS years event. No donation links, nothing. Becoming a sponsor for the 48 is quite simple. Provide products to raffle or provide a service that we need. I am amazed every year the amount of stuff we get to give away. They like to be involved with the event and anyone that has gone on the event enjoyed themselves. They do it for the fun of it, not what they can get out of it. The 48 is all about the trip, to enjoy like minded people and have fun along the way. The people behind the scenes are all volunteers. It's not easy getting it all together but we do it because it's a very fun time. It's really late in the game to want to get involved and yet bring nothing to the table. It's not like we have been keeping our plans a secret. I'm sure the RIX site gets far more hits than out little whole in the web. A link to donate and maybe to the 48hrs site might have made us reach our goal a lot quicker.

Methinks if you add up all the hits from all the Subie message boards that advertise for this event, it would be more than RIX's daily hit-count. If their hit-count was substantial, they wouldn't be asking for a link-through. But, as already mentioned, they are asking for something from us, with nothing to give us in return. Them running a story is not the same as being a sponsor - this year's event gets nothing out of it. Besides, they need content for their magazine; we're supposed to give them content AND a link? No sponsor-status, no linky. Can we bury this dead horse now?

Actually, Alex snagged that membership number last night, and got Nick to help with the auction.
