Maybe the early group can hit KofP, then have a few drinks in the hotel bar while the rest roll in.

Either way it doesn't matter to me, and I think that's what happened last year anyway.
I am looking to setup places/times that will make the most people happy. The mall across the street looked like it had a bunch of places to eat, so it KoP doesn't work out I think it's safe to say we'll find something. I still need to get some estimated numbers before I start calling.
Any idea when the registration will begin?

Don't know about the tradition part seeing as it was the first time we did it iirc. You actually make a good point about people rolling in at assorted times. It would be easier just to tell people to come to the hotel, get situated, then take a trip down to the bar and look for the group. When we were there last the restaurant part looked quite empty. If we give them a heads up maybe they can have something set up for us. Think it's called Red Hot and Blue, I ended up on their mailing list somehow (yuengling) so I should have their info at home. I never made it to KoP. Spent the time with Rob at the bar killing braincells. -Alex

Considering the staggered times, maybe we should just post a list of nearby places and let people roll out in their own groups for Thursday dinner as they arrive. Then rally up back at the hotel bar. I'm local, so if anybody is there by 4pm, I'll be heading over right from work in Philly, and hanging out for awhile like I did last year. Where we eat makes no difference to me; although, the broccoli pizza tore my stomach a new one the next day. Immodium kept me from heading home from the Pine Barrens.

I believe last year there was a group that went to the KoP and others that stayed at the bar. I think this worked out nicely because as people rolled in there were still people at the bar to catch them and fill them in on the option (bar, KoP, or other places locally).
I think most of the people that stayed at the bar had arrived quite early and already had dinner before the KoP group left.

I'll help Alex with bar duty...LOL we had to look up drink mixes for the bartender last year. If you dig BBQ the food was pretty good and reasonable.

Todd, let me know if you need places in Cherry Hill scouted in person; I'm right here in Philly. If you don't want to do King of Pizza again, that strip mall across the street from the Holiday Inn has a few places, like Cheesecake Factory and maybe an Applebee's (or similar-style family restaurant) and that would have much more room for parking than KofP. I can cruise past there some time this week and make a list of our options there. Todd, there is the BBQ place in the hotel we stay at in Cherry Hill. The food was dang good. I totally second that My understanding is that King of Pizza is part of the tradition. If that's not the case than I would be more than happy to look into other options. While I didn't have any of the food I liked the fact that there was a restaurant in the hotel (or attached to it). It's nice to know we could just hang out in there all night as people roll in. I thought that it was a bit of a pain getting everyone together and drive over to KoP and the parking there is tight. But man was that pizza gooooooooooooood and they had some amazing wings. If anyone has any suggestions feel free to throw them my way. No tradition I know of. Was the first year we stayed over in Cherry Hill actually. -mike

I'll help Alex with bar duty I expect that I will also be at the bar, you know to make sure those arriving late to the hotel will know where everyone is. Hopefully this year I won't be on decongestant medication and will be able to drink. Ian

I'll still have to drive home Thursday night to NE Philly, so I can't get tanked. I think Saturday night in Lake George will be the night for that, assuming I'm not dead tired like I was last year by the time we got to LG.
Any ideas for a mid-way destination on Saturday, from Burlington VT to Lake George? If there is something interesting to stop and see (even if it's just some scenic area to stop and take pics) that would help with sorting out the route for that day.

Ok, than I am going to suggest the bar as the hang out and those that want to go elsewhere can do so.
Mike: If we are staying at the same place as last year, do you want me to get in touch with the hotel? I remember talking to the manager last year and he said that if we were going to do it again to give a call ahead of time to block some rooms and get us cheaper rates. I figure I can do this sine i'll be calling to let the "bar people" know to expect a large group that night. I'm also going to start a new thread for food ideas.

The resturant is actually totally seperate from the Hotel. I'm already talking to the hotel, so go ahead and call the resturant.

Why not just crash with us? I'm sure someone will have floor space for yah. -mike I'll still have to drive home Thursday night to NE Philly, so I can't get tanked. I agree, unless you have something you need to do, I would just stay in Cherry Hill. There is always floor space somewhere.
