Personally I LOVED that snow covered back road at night. I really wish I have my roof rack mounted lights installed. It would have been the perfect time to throw them on. Next year I will be better prepared.

Though I didn't partake, I thought the run on Lake Champlain was a nice little blowing-off-steam thing. There are a couple of sanctioned snowmobile races held on Lake Champlain during the wintertime - got me thinking that we could, with enough planning, probably run something similar on a section of the lake not used for fishing and the like.
Might be too much of an undertaking, but I have a feeling that done with enough planning - and the blessing of the NYSP, maybe - we could have a nice little run on the lake without anyone throwing much of a fit.
I'd also second a summer run, if someone's up for it.. ?

We would have to reserve the whole place if we hit Wings. I'm all for it as long as I'm not Ted's co-driver.

Although this was my first year participating, I enjoyed being split into two groups. After driving up the NJ Turnpike with EVERYONE in line, I was ready for a smaller group.
Group 2 rocked and I had a blast. Whether we were bringing up the back door or leading, it was a great group with lots of wonderful people. Hope this is a trend that continues on to next year's drive.
I also really enjoyed the stop at VTMotorsports. Hope we can do that again next year!
BTW - I will be doubling my baking efforts next year so that I have enough for the entire trip. I was so thrilled to see that everyone enjoyed the sweets! Can't go wrong feeding you guys sugary snacks! The chocolate chip cookies and brownies were a huge success and I was elated to be able to give something back to the group!

Thanks again for the wonderful cookies! I know it was cold out there when we were leaving SDC, but it was greatly appreciated. I needed a slight sugar-high to make the long drive that night.

MMM Yes, I needed some of those to combat Alex in our war on Sunday. I lost 22-2, almost a shutout! -mike

I agree with the idea that an event during our event does seem like it would get in the way. Plus I don't think everyone is into it. It would however not be a bad idea if would could perhaps start somewhere the day after an event or maybe end somewhere the day before an event. I could double as a way to spend some more time with friends we don't get to see for long enough. again, just a thought. Throwin em out there.
