Hey guys,
I came up with the following for a possible press release, let me know what you think (I did this in word so it may not come out 100%):
Subaru Drivers get set to Drive for a Cure for the 8th Time
A group of Subaru owners from the northeast, many from our local area, are getting ready to Drive for a Cure for the eighth year in a row. As they have for the past several years the drivers are raising money for the American Cancer Society.
The group is composed of everyday people who once a year get together to satisfy their love of driving their Subaru’s in all types of weather, with their desire to give back to the communities they come from. The members of the group come from all walks of life: Doctors, EMT’s, nurses, sales people, students, utility companies, financial firms, auto companies, etc; as well as all age groups. They all have one thing in common – their love of owning and driving a Subaru, the horizontal-boxer engine AWD car originally from Japan (some models are made at the Subaru factory in Lafayette, Indiana; others are shipped from Japan).
Each year, since January 2002, these drivers meet and drive over 900 miles in a weekend. Over the years they have raised money for the World Trade Center Relief Fund, and the American Cancer Society. The people come from as far as New Hampshire, Rhode Island, upstate New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, and from as close as the five boroughs of New York City. It started out as just a drive to meet the people that chat online at www.NASIOC.Com from all over the area, but it has turned into much more than that. Friendships have been developed that have lasted over the years. When asked why they do it, especially in the heart of winter in upstate New York, the answer is usually, “because its fun; and it’s for a good cause.”
Over the years the group has raised money collected from family, friends, co-workers totaling over $35,000. This year, as they did last, Subaru of America will be matching what the drivers collect up to $7,000. The drive has gone from 6 cars the first year to 32 cars last year! Most models of the Subaru line participate, including Forester, Outback, Legacy, and the ever popular Impreza line featuring the WRX – the Subaru performance vehicle.
For more information please visit the groups’ website at: 48hrs.info/2009/ where you can help them raise money, as well as view photos from the past drives.

I figure this can be sent to all the local newspapers, TV and Radio stations. Maybe we can get some good coverage (I know that some people from DRIVE are coming along,) but figured we can use more.
