Good idea, might allow for 'group stop' areas to be marked on a GPS and even 'do not stop here' markers. Ian We'd have to mark most of northern NJ as a "do not stop here" We do have to find a way to keep off the GSP and GWB next year. I know it's tough because the GSP always backs up a little after the Union plaza. I have a feeling it's going to be messy what ever route we decide to take. No going towards the city thou, that's a guarantee of having the roads packed like a f@g's ass after the gay pride parade. edit: the swear filter on here is quite weird. ass is ok but f@g is marked?

The big problem was the rain. I routinely take the route past the GWB every day and it's not jammed normally.
The other problem/good thing is next year in the afternoon on Friday we'll be going to SDC which means we'll be driving through NNJ around 1pm, so we *should* miss the traffic.

What about a route through NE PA? That would get us up into NY state, but bypass the entire NYC area. I guess we'll see what can be done once the nightly destinations are firmed-up.

That's a possibility, although SDC may be interested in hosting us on Friday Afternoon which means we'd have to be in Orangeburg, NY around 2pm. At least we have the dates set for next year.

I just went up to Wilkes-Barre, PA for a subaru meet. I know there is a large # of active members in that area (hazleton/wilkes-barre/scraton) and 1-2 members still hosts monthly meets in the area.
While I was at the meet I asked my friends up there if they thought it would be possible to meet in Scranton, PA if the 48hrs group stopped there (dinner? overnight?). They all said that it probably not be too difficult to get a group to meet up with us.
Just something to keep in mind.

If we would need to be up in NY state the first afternoon, Scranton would be a decent starting point.
