Yup, this will serve as a place to talk about past and future trips and essentially keep a record of what happened in the past and what we want to get going on in the future.

I'm in! Yahoo mail thought the activation email was spam, but I found it. Mike, if you sent me email, I didn't get it. Try Jeff (at) b12power.com - that one doesn't have a spam filter.
Well, my prep is coming along: serviced the Fozzie (oil/filter, PA inspection, needed a new knock sensor, new timing belt), picked up a small Cobra CB (should fit in the ash tray opening) at Wal-Mart and ordered a Li'l Wil antenna online, and currently working on getting the waypoints in my antique Garmin GPS-V via MapSource. I'll install the CB once the antenna arrives, then I just have to pack (sleeping bag, changes of clothes, cooler w/pogey-bait, CDs, map books, air compressor, tow straps, etc).
Does anybody have the coordinates of the points along the route? MapSource is having a hard time finding most of the intersections as listed on the event website. Even online sites like MapQuest aren't helping much.
I'm working on getting a donation jar set up at my regular bar, and maybe another public area. Whatever I can get out of that, I'll bring the total to the meet. Let me know if it would be easier to bring it as cash, or to put it in my account and donate it via the paypal button.
I guess I'm excited about the chance to meet new people, especially other Subie enthusiasts. I haven't been this excited about a road trip since a buddy first asked me to go with him to Americade 2003 in Lake George on our Suzuki Bandits. Americade was such a culture shock: a 65k person motorcycle rally with a family-oriented feel. It was so much better than the Harley drunk-fests that pass for motorcycle rallies these days.

Yeah I tried to e-mail yah I'll re-send.
Glad to have you along!
The co-ordinates/intersections should work, I just put em out there in case people got lost and needed to catch up really.
As for donations, you can give cash to Ted or buy raffle tickets with the $.

You will also want to signup for dinner on Saturday night. The party will be a blast.

Yeah, I'll sign up for the dinner. How far is that from Duffy's Tavern? That was my hangout during Americade a few years running. I'll be heading home from Lake George on Sunday morning; I have to get up 5am Monday for work, and I'd rather have a nice leisurely drive and get home before dinnertime than to be rushing from Newburgh late that night. Of course, this means I'm planning a late night in LG, since I can afford to sleep-in a little the next day. I just have a question that could probably be answered/worked-out at the dinner, but: Many of the raffle prizes seem to be for the Impreza/WRX/STi, and I own a Forester. Would it be possible, if I won a prize I couldn't use, to auction it off at the dinner and add that to the donations? Or maybe I should wait and do an online auction later and donate the proceeds. Either way, I'm probably getting ahead of myself, seeing as I haven't won anything yet. Just wondering if that situation came up at past events and how it was handled in order to add to the contributions.

I'm sure we'll all be partying after the dinner down at the Super8 or a few other hangouts on the strip in LG, depending on what's open.
As for the raffle, we tried to get as many gift certificates as possible so it would be car independent, however usually folks will swap it on the spot or what not.

yes you can give me cash/checks at the dinner and even mail more donations after the event if you need to! the end collection date has not been set in stone yet so, keep your eyes open.
the majority of the raffle items are certificates, it was planned that way, so you can get what fits your car. like mike said, someone is usually willing to swap if need be.

As the only OB driver in the past, I can testify that people are willing to swap with you if you win. Actually you might stand a better chance of getting Forester parts than I will for my OB. I do this for the fun of it, and usually wind up getting a T-Shirt instead.

Oh, I'm not worried about winning or not; I'm in it for the fund raising. I was just wondering what the normal protocol was. At some fund-raising parties I've been to, folks would give back the prizes they won but didn't want to keep, and another round of raffle tickets would be sold (the old tickets would be null and void, so people would contribute more money to the cause for a better chance at winning).
