We're barely at 40% of our goal, with most of the participants registered and having made their contributions, and 4 weeks left before the event! The other ~$4800 towards our goal needs to be made up from raffle ticket sales!
Everyone should be making an effort to get the word out on their regular forums, local Subie club(s), car shops, and wherever folks have a few bucks to spare for a chance to win stuff like a track day, dyno runs, and shop labor, as well as SPT parts and other bits specifically for Subies. There will be lots of gift certificates up for grabs, so folks in other regions should be encouraged to participate as well. Prizes can always be traded, if it's something a winner can't use (like a west coast guy winning a track day at Pocono) - someone will be willing to trade.
On the forums, it might be best to not write it up like we're "selling" tickets, but rather that folks will be awarded raffle tickets in return for their contribution at a rate of 1 ticket per $10 donated. Some folks might be leery about buying tickets for a raffle that they won't attend, but if they are friends of yours, let them know that they can trust you to make sure they get the prizes they've won. Ted will be mailing/e-mailing tickets/ticket numbers to everyone who is in the raffle. I believe the drive participants will get them when they get to the Holiday Inn in Cherry Hill, NJ.
If they contribute via the ACS team page, make sure they type "RAFFLE" in the second address box, so Ted doesn't have to contact them and ask if they want raffle tickets.
Everybody is doing well though, methinks. We have over $3200 raised already, and there's still nearly a month left to go. I think we can still pull this off, but the raffle is the key at this point. So, get out there and SELL SELL SELL! And remember: if folks want to contribute, but don't care about the raffle tickets, that means you can contribute it under your own name on the ACS site and that means more raffle tickets for YOU. Let's not have prizes left over because we didn't sell enough tickets - we should be able to raise at least as much money as the prizes are worth, and right now we are a LONG way off from that.
Good luck, folks, and I'll see you all next month! ;D
