The list clearly says "Tentative, there may be some changes" under SDC.

ok guys here is the official list. I did the best I could. It sucks I had to cut it in half because of budget constraints.
C1010FG300 1 5MT Duracon Shift Knob C1010FG400 1 6MT Duracon Shift Knob SOA8431000 1 02-07 Impreza SPT Intake SOA8431030 1 02-07 Impreza Intake Shield SOA8431010 1 05-09 Legacy SPT Intake SOA8431040 1 05-09 Legacy Intake Shield D4030FE000 4 Sti Muffler Hangers SOA8431120 1 08-09 Imp Turbo 05-09Leg Turbo Lower Chassis brace SOA8431070 1 02-07 Lower Chassis Brace SOA307T700 10 Sti Towel
This is 100% approved, also the we are all set for the stop at SDC with the catered Lunch. It comes out to about 2k retail, just about what we did last year plus the Lunch and the stuff we got from HOA/Epic.
Eric is also working on getting last minute stuff from some other sponsers through our relationship with RIX magazine and I hope to have some promotional stuff (trash and trinkits) in time, that stuff we will just give away to those on the trip.

With the current state of the economy, and especially the state of the auto industry, I'm ecstatic that Subaru is even still giving us anything. It shows how dedicated they are to their customers. Cutting costs like World Rally Cup racing so that they don't have to start cutting jobs shows their commitment to their employees as well. These are the things that create a deep life-long brand loyalty.

Agreed. I'm suprised SOA and SDC didn't totally cancel everything. I'm suprised that SDC is associated with such a ghetto magazine as RIX, Alex and I looked at the web page for RIX and were embarassed! -mike

While I agree the magizine really does not target the demographic of the 48hrs any coverage from any media outlet is welcome. We can't offer exclusivity to one (Rix) without slighting others (Subaru drive). Most of the cars on Rix's site seem to barely see the road nevermind snow and all the other incliment weather we see on the trip. This is the 48hrs, not pimp my ride. (sidenote, any of the models are welcome to come on the trip ) P.S. Happy Holidays everyone.

Yeah I'm still up in the air on this but I'm gonna probably lean toward not putting up a link. If they'd like to be a "sponsor" then we can definitely do a normal sponsor spot. Just let me know the prizes and we'll put em up, etc.

It was the skin filter. I too think the Rix mag is a little.... risque for the 48hrs. Not that I'm a saint, degenerate is much closer to the mark. The 48 does require a little tact seeing as we have some big sponsors. P.S. Wouldn't mind getting tickets to that little party thou.

From what I can tell, Rix pulls a completely different demographic than folks that have anything to do with the 48hrs of Tri-State. Let them run a story on us if they want, but I don't see any reason to cater to them - not only are their readers not interested in what we're doing, but I doubt we want any of their "typical" readers showing up with 24" chrome wheels and 5000w stereo systems to come on our little trip. Their story and their magazine will not help our cause in any way.
I'll recant my entire stated opinion if I can get a VIP invite to the next Exxotica party, though, based on those pics.

i have nothing against 24" chrome and 5000w sound, the self loathing people usually attached to those things is another story. dont get me wrong, if they donate and act responsible then they would be welcome to come.

Yeah, but the point is that the magazine wants advertising on the 48hrs site in return for simply running a story on the event. If we do that, then we need to advertise for every media outlet that covers the event, and that isn't fair to the actual sponsors. At best, maybe Mike could put up a simple page at the end of the month, linking to all of the publications that covered this year's event, so people can see what they had to say about it? That's the only way to be fair to everyone and still link through to Rix magazine's site.

for the most part you are correct. the other media outlets are doing it to help us not help themselves. that comes with the links to the stories after the drive.
if they want to be like any other sponsor, donate items to the raffle. problem is the shirts are off to the printer, signs are full and trip starts in 10 days
